The Calgary chapter was established in 1984 under the presidency of Krysztof Grzymski, then a professor at the University of Calgary. Leadership has subsequently passed to Julius Szkrenyes, then to Lynne Nash. Currently Dr. W. D. (Bill) Glanzman is president of the Society.
